Hello, my name is Marina. I work in costume design for advertising and film and I love my job.
Fashion design has always been present in my life. I remember drawing my own clothes since I was 8.
I grew up among my mother's and my grandmothers' sculptures, drawings, paints and fabrics.
I studied Graphic design in Carlos Morel Arts School in Buenos Aires. After that, when I was 22, I moved here in Mexico, where I began my career and development as costume designer.
Since 2006 I work in the advertising area, creating ads and most recently, in films.
When I'm invited to a project, I work intuitively, from character conceptualization, sketches and stories, to the selection of materials and all necessary details for the characters, the ambience and the story to be in synch.
I love paying attention to the stories that the attires, textiles and accessories tell; to play with the pieces of clothing, to try, to modify and to intervene.
For me, costume design is to conceptualize an image, to interpret the project's ideas and translate them into textures and shapes.
My work is to help communicate the essence and story of each character through a particular expression and aesthetics.
My work makes me happy
